[Sensitivity of Plasmodium Falciparum to Chloroquine in the Hyperendemic Malaria Savannah Zone of Burkina Faso Ex-Upper Volta. Use of in Vivo and in Vitro Tests. Demonstration of a Resistant Strain in Vitro]

Studies on the response of P. falciparum to chloroquine was conducted in schools located in the environs of Koudougou (Burkina Faso, Upper-Volta), where malaria is meso to hyperendemic, using in vivo studies and in vitro macroculture tests. Cases were obtained from school children, semi-immune asymptomatic carriers, in the 7-12 years-group.
