Ceramides in the Central Control of Metabolism

Central ceramides regulate energy metabolism by impacting hypothalamic neurons. This allows ceramides to integrate endocrine signals - such as leptin, ghrelin, thyroid hormones, or estradiol - and to modulate the central control of puberty.
