Abstract

Purpose: To provide an overview of the appropriate evaluation and management of partial-thickness burns.

Target Audience: This continuing-education activity is intended for physicians and nurses with an interest in learning about burn wound care.

Learning Objectives: After reading the article and taking the test, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe the classification of burn wounds. 2. Identify characteristics of burn wounds and the clinical techniques for diagnosing burn wound depth. 3. Identify the treatment options for partial-thickness burns.
