Treatment of adolescent substance use varies with the stage of involvement. Treatment of Substance Abuse or Dependency Disorder involves family treatments, cognitive behavioral techniques, motivation interviewing and 12-step approaches. The most common pathway to relapse involves being around alcohol/drug using peers.
