Malignant Hyperthermia is a life-threatening crisis frequently triggered by the use of various anesthetic agents. The syndrome of susceptibility has been observed in association with a number of orthopedic conditions seen in children but not with myelomeningocele. We have recently seen three children in our Spina Bifida Clinic with the syndrome and we wish to add myelomeningocele to the list of conditions that have a possible association to malignant hyperthermia.
