Abstract
An unusual cytoplasmic organelle was found in the perineurial sheath of intramuscular nerves in a case of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It was composed of alternating layers of ribosomes and fibrillar material helically wound around a core of cytoplasm. Comparable organelles have been described in leukemic and other neoplastic cells as well as in the developing cutaneous sensory corpuscle of Grandry.
