Objective This study examined the link between sexuality and contraceptive choices among college women after controlling for their relationship status. Additionally, the relationship between responsibility for contraception and women's contraceptive choices was investigated. : Online self-report surveys of sexuality and contraception were collected from 455 college women in the United States. : Women mostly preferred dual-method contraception. Sexual esteem and sexual depression predicted women's contraceptive choices. Finally, having personal or shared responsibility for contraception predicted women's contraceptive choices. : Our findings suggest that women's psychological well-being empowers them to make contraceptive choices that allow them to experience sexuality in healthy ways.
