Abstract
We describe a case of severe biventricular failure and cardiovascular collapse following exposure to the manure gas hydrogen sulfide. Initial tests indicated uncoupling of cellular bioenergetics in addition to myocardial damage. Cardiopulmonary support with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was initiated, and the patient could be successfully weaned from support after 28 days. ().
