Abstract

The Sm(III) ion in the title compound, [SmCl(3)(C(12)H(10)N(2)O)(3)], shows a coordination number of nine with a slightly distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic geometry based on a Cl(3)N(6) donor set. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by three intra-molecular O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.
