Abstract

The authors present a study of 164 pseudophakic retinal detachments followed up at least six months after surgery. All the parameters were statistically evaluated. It shows that preoperative general patterns are similar to those described previously. This study was mainly concerned with finding factors which might influence anatomical success. Only proliferative vitreo-retinopathy was statistically correlated with the quality of the results. In contrast, the demonstration and localisation of retinal tears, IOL design and even vitreous loss do not influence the prognosis.
