Abstract
Intravascular stents are recognized to be of value in maintaining patency in resistant stenoses, recanalized occlusions, and when intimal dissection has occurred during balloon angioplasty [1,2,3]. Apart from early thrombosis, complications are relatively infrequent. We report a case of perforation of an angioplasty balloon during iliac angioplasty by a Palmaz stent sited in the contralateral iliac artery.
